BOOK CLUB FRIDAYS

FREE READING

Guidelines

1. You must have a free reading book with you in class at all times!

2. Free reading time is given on Fridays (and ?).

3. Your choice!

· Must be appropriate for school

· Explore fantasy, history, drama, comedy, sci-fi, self-help, etc…

· Choose your partner wisely

4. Use class time wisely—your success is your responsibility!

· Read

· Take notes

· Use “While reading” as a guide

· Work on presentation/ various activities

5. You should NOT:

· Sleep/daydream

· Chit-chat (unless you have permission!)

· Disturb others

· Go to the library/ your locker

6. Free reading time is for reading—NOT homework or talking!

7. You will be required to document your reading in various ways such as the bookmarks, think alouds, organizers, and worksheets.

8. We will have mini lessons and tasks along the way such as a book talk and how to take notes.

9. You WILL be graded on your class time regarding your behavior and effort.
