Grade 6 Social Studies Curriculum Outline

This is a list of the events that will be covered throughout this school year.  Information will be introduced, discussed, researched, and connected to real life experiences through various materials.  Your child will not be assigned an individual textbook to take home on a daily basis.  We have a text to use in the classroom and we will also be learning from supplemental text, literature, computer research, maps, videos, magazines, newspapers, etc.  When an assignment arises that the student may need a textbook at home, books will then be signed out and returned thru Mrs. Underhill.

Topics of Study

Colonial America to include the Native American Tribes in Maine

The American Revolution
